Context

The Degroof Petercam Foundation was founded as a Public Interest Foundation and is now among the largest foundations in Belgium. The foundation selects and supports innovative solutions for employment. These solutions can focus on developing skills for the future, contributing to job creation by supporting entrepreneurship and helping those with a more difficult access to jobs.
To fulfill its mission, Degroof Petercam Foundation is looking to expand its team with a Knowledge & Community Manager. The main mission of this role will be to build and leverage our knowledge, expertise, and network to strengthen the social impact of the Foundation’s actions and support the systemic change we want to achieve with our funded projects. 
The team currently consists of 3 young, dynamic, positive and highly skilled professionals who support each other in different aspects of the daily operations and share the same ambition: Make A Mark on society through the Degroof Petercam Foundation.
 

Your Position

What are our expectations from you as our Knowledge & Community Manager and how can you live up to our expectations?


•    Animate a platform for knowledge building and sharing around employment by initiating and following research initiatives, analyzing data and trends, producing content, sharing learnings, participating to communities of practice and learning at sector level, organizing trainings and participating in the “non-financial” support that the Foundation offers to its projects. This includes setting-up a knowledge management methodology and tools. You will be the internal reference for employment-related expertise.
•    Build a strong community around the foundation of partners, philanthropists, projects and networks. You will animate the community and look for collaborative initiatives. This involves setting up a management strategy and tools. You will establish sustainable relations with private and public organizations, locally in Belgium, France and Luxemburg and at EU level.
•    Initiate projects by identifying opportunities for developing social solutions around employment, finding partners, helping with funding, introducing to policy makers and public organizations. 
•    Manage a communication & PR plan together with the Managing Director and team to strengthen and sustain the above-mentioned missions. You will operate and develop communication tools supporting the collaborative impact mission.
 

Your Profile

What are “must have” skills or experience to #MakeAMark in this role?
•    You already have some years of experience and a well-established network in one of the following fields: academic, philanthropic, consultancy, public sector, social innovation, employment, public affairs (policy oriented)
•    Fluent in English and French where you excel in both languages in oral and written communication towards different types of stakeholders.
•    You posses an entrepreneurial mindset combined with an easy approachable  and collaborative attitude.
•    The will of making a mark on society and your personal development rather than moving fast on the career ladder. 


What skills and experience do we consider as an asset to get you even faster up to speed in this role?
•    Next to French and English, you also have a good understanding of Dutch.
•    Knowledge of social finance and the selection of impact projects.
