Context

To realize our ambitious objectives, Bank Degroof Petercam is looking to reinforce its Compliance department with a Compliance Advisor Financial Instruments & Services. As a member of the central Compliance department, you will be part of a small and dynamic team dedicated to assist and monitor the activities of our Bank related to the MAR and Mifid legal framework to be respected by the Bank’s Private Banking, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance activities.

Your Position

Advise our teams with respect to Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and MiFID Compliance in matters like rules of conduct, product governance, Inducements, personal transactions, Inside Information, etc.
Analyze files and requests received from other departments and provide them with compliance opinions and recommendations
Help implement new regulatory requirements, specific financial services or new products from compliance analysis through implementation
Act as regulatory soundboard for specific IT projects regarding implementation questions
Investigate incidents and atypical cases
Help organize and deliver training to keep the bank’s staff informed of relevant compliance developments in your domain

Your Profile

A master’s in law or economics. A focus on commercial/corporate/finance law would be an asset
3 years of professional experience in a law firm, consulting or a financial institution, with a sound exposure to MiFID or MAR compliance and a good understanding of the operational setup of financial transactions and services
Fluent in Dutch plus English or French with a good command of the other one
A keen interested in financial instruments, asset management, financial markets and corporate finance
An analytical thinker with sound business acumen, objectivity and accountability who is able to work autonomously
The ability to translate complex theoretical principles into pragmatic advice
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken as well as strong presentation skills
A team player and relationship builder with a sense of humor. Really. No, really

Experience with databases in general and financial markets tools (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.) would be an asset.
