Senior Compliance Officer

Context

All employees are expected to adhere to these laws, regulations and ethical standards, and management is responsible for ensuring as such compliance with them. Compliance is therefore an essential ingredient of good corporate governance. The Board of Directors and the Management Committee of Group Degroof Petercam have a collective responsibility for compliance at Group level.
The Group Chief Compliance Officer of Group Degroof Petercam (the “Group CCO”) assists the Management Committee in controlling compliance risks.

Your Position

The Compliance CMP Team Leader performs the following tasks:
1. Ensures the day-to-day follow-up of the team’s members by coaching and following-up the performance of the monitoring and controls activities, together with the Group Compliance CMP Manager (as direct reporting line);
2. Supports the Group Compliance CMP Manager in :

  • determining the CMP Plan and a CMP Program for the upcoming year in a and in adapting the CMP Plan and Program during the year, if required;
  • determining the annual teams’ and individual objectives of the CMP Unit’s members and in evaluating them towards the predefined objectives, by proceeding to their preevaluation for validation with the Group Compliance CMP Manager;
  • identifying and reporting him/her on weaknesses identified and actual or potential exposures related to different Compliance domains such as AML, MiFID and Market Abuse;
  • providing input to the Group Compliance CMP Manager for the recurrent Compliance Risk Assessment in order to identify new risks to which Group DP is exposed;
  • defining the policies, procedures and working instructions relating to the CMP activities, group wide;
  • providing input to other Compliance Experts for the development or review of policies and procedures, with a focus on the controls related to the covered processes and activities;
  • ensuring that the Group policies are implemented in all the Group entities;
  • communicating and interacting with first line of defense businesses and internal control departments on findings and proposed measures (observations and recommendations) in close concertation with the Compliance Domain Experts;
  • supervising the follow-up of the observations and recommendations, their documentation and the closing of the recommendations;
  • participating to the update and implementation of Degroof Petercam Group CMP methodology and 2LOD controls (among which CMP controls) in Belgium and steers, provides support and monitors their implementation in the different local entities;
  • providing reporting to the Group CCO (dashboards) on the CMP activities and controls results, together with the Group Compliance CMP Manager;
  • participating to the set-up and follow-up of IT changes and developments which concerns the CMP Unit;

The CMP Team Leader has:

  • Outstanding coaching capacities to ensure a day-to-day follow-up of the CMP Unit members efficiently in their tasks to reach control objectives;

  • Strong organization, planning and prioritizing skills to execute the planned controls;
  • Excellent eye for detail with heavy focus on accuracy and delivery;
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and use own initiative to reach control objectives;

  • Work autonomously and independently. Consults the Group Compliance CMP Manager in performing his/her tasks;
